Sharon P. Banta, MS, RD, CDN is a Doctoral Candidate and holds a Masters of Science degree from New York University in Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics and an undergraduate Business degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has a Certification in Health Coaching from Columbia University and a Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Her prior work experience includes being a State Registered Dietitian for NY Department of Health (DOH), conducting Nutrition research for the USDA and working as a Clinical Dietitian at both Intensive and Outpatient Medical Centers. She was also the Lead Dietitian for Center for Discovery, working with both adolescents and adults with eating disorders including anorexia and binge eating disorder.
Sharon enjoys working with adults of all ages with an "all foods fit" approach. She specializes in medical nutrition therapy for specific disease diagnosis using food as medicine.
